Super bowl volunteers in Glendale on Saturday. I was late for this shoot, but it turned out okay. I took this photo during the half second that the little girl stopped looking at my camera. It's funny how kids don't mind having their picture taken as much as adults (I shot the Henson exhibit earlier that morning, and they actually did pretend like I wasn't there).

And a preview of the group show of which I am a small part at the Trunkspace. I'm not sure what to call this technique, I'm not even sure that it exists. Still panning, maybe?
Sometimes I get too caught up in little photo tricks (panning, bounce/off camera flash, framing, blown out slow shutter speed daytime shots, reflections, shadows, etc.) to remember that even simple news photography can still be breathtaking if it's got moment, natural light, and composition. I suppose lots of things are like that, though.
I've got the day off, so I think I'm gonna go plant some potatoes in my garden.
